Announcements :

*Health Checks continue at the Conservation Clubhouse on the third Wed. of each month. These are monitored by nursing staff from a LaPorte Rehab and Nursing facility and retired Lion RN's. Particpated in Community Mill Pond Festival. Have several members in the PBI Vision Program.We are testing at local schools and events. Have generated attendance interest by having improved programs. Have built barrell train available for your picnics, or fund raisers.Contact Lion Gene at 219-767-2372. .Successful chicken bar-b-que in June-a sell out . Continue the sponsorship of the Leos Club at the South Central School.nbsp; .Served 104 senior citizens of our Township at the annual Christmas dinner. We honor one person with a Citizen of the Year plaque... Presented 72 third graders with dictionaries at So. Central School. Will present 10 Thesaurus to library of same school for student use. Had successful Health Screening by LaPorte Hospital

Activities :

Co-Sponsors and supporters w/ two other Lions Clubs in formation of Leos Club at the local High School.Installation of 24 Leo Members on Nov. 21,2008. Installed by Governor Kevin Roe. Leos continue to be active with Habitat for Humanity house building and to assist Lions in local projects. *Senior Citizen Dinner each December since 1980* High School Scholarship Leo and another chosen* County Roads Cleanup* Candy Sales* Street Lights at intersections of hiway and county roads* Hearing Aid and Eyeglass Recycling* Faculty Recognition at School* Lions Medic Alert Program* Co-host community Halloween Party* Decorations in the downtown area for holidays* Monthly Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar testing* *32 Active Members including four Melvin Jones Award winners~* Will actively participate in annual Mill Pond Festival 8-17-19 /2012 with cooking hogs and serving at food booth and offering train rides. *Have a Lions International Booth with handouts and invitations for joining at festival. *Donate to Lions International Special Projects.
